  •  Its the official miniseries of ABC/Disney (0+ / 0-)

Now "true" may be another matter entirely.

    •  So what's an 'unofficial miniseries' --- (0+ / 0-)

--- of ABC/Disney or anyone else?

Name one. I think there's a legal issue here.

      •  It doesn't matter (0+ / 0-)

I don't think them calling it the official X is a legal issue.  I think them calling it TRUE is a legal issue.  To say something is the official product of so and so is a legal issue if so and so says it is.  This is the official miniseries of the Olympics.  Yeah, thats a lawsuit.  But to say something is the official true story and not say what "official" means in any context is not really the point, its the truth aspect of this that is the kicker.  If they say this is true it doesnt matter how many times they use the word docudrama.  If it isnt the truth and they defame someone then they get their ass handed to them.  I like the idea that Britains laws could come into play here when it gets broadcast overseas.  So the Bush administration doesn't push the issue, ask our foreign allies to do it for us.  We need to start asking the world to help us, that we are in trouble.  Not from without but from within.

THIS IS TRUE ( its not...whisper).  Do they think people are that stupid?  Yeah, and they are right to think that about the average unaware viewer.

        •  Actually I like the idea that Italy's laws could (0+ / 0-)

If that guy can sue the church for preaching that Jesus  existed (granted that got pulled) then there may be some nasty laws out in the intenrational community to combat things such as this.  The laws were created for a reason, most likely to combat propoganda style tactics of fascist regimes.  Call Gernamny and Italy and see if they can come into play here.
