  •  END PROHIBITION NOW !!! (15+ / 0-)

This militarization of police forces nationwide is a direct result of prohibition of "some drugs".
Regulation of the drug trade is the only way to remove the "Criminal elements" control of the drug trade.
Who do we want controlling the drug trade?
Criminals who dont care that there clients are children, or state governments who will deny access to this segment of the market(children)?
Law Enforcement Against Prohibition is an organization promoting the regulation of the drug trade and desrves our support.

Without a doubt of lower-end drugs -- e.g., hemp/marijuana -- would be a major step forward in the nation:

      • Perhaps the fastest path toward improving the budget situation:
      • Release 10,000s of people from prison almost overnight, ending the issue of prison overcrowding
      • Tax marijuana sales (sin tax) just like with alcohol & tobacco -- making this a major funding source for drug treatment, drug prevention, and deficit reduction
      • Enable the growing of hemp for food, clothing, etc ... as hemp is the best plant useful for people that can grow (wild) in all 50 states and has a wide breadth of potential uses
      • Opens door for helping change the energy situation in the nation -- hemp diesel is an excellent biofuel, and the hemp could be 'wild grown' in virtually every backyard nationwide with zero fertilizer imput. With local/distributed refineries, every American homeowner could grow a portion of the nation's fuel supply without using any energy to produce their hemp contribution. (RE Hemp fuel ...And -- how to make your own ... )
      • Enables the focus of the nation's law enforcement and other resources to more important/critical problems
      • Starts the nation on a path away from these highly destructive police (para-military) practices
      • Etc ...
