  •  Bush ain't the worst. (0+ / 0-)

    Let's have some perspective here.
He's awful but he can't be as bad as President James Madison. Madison started the ridiculous War of 1812, allowed the White House and the Capitol to be sacked by the British and did little else.
Bush might be second-worst but not worst.

    •  "Perspective?" Excuse me?? (0+ / 0-)

He ignored an intelligence PDB that practically SANG to him about Bin Laden's plans. He ignored every advisor from the Clinton Administration warning him that Al Queda was going to be the biggest problem facing him in the near future.

Then he sat like a fucking lump for 7 minutes or so while the country was being attacked.

Where the fuck have you been?

      •  Reading my history. (0+ / 0-)

That's where the fuck I've been.
Did you read my post? Madison let DC get burnt to the ground.
Bush might be #2 worst but not #1. It just seems like he's #1 right now because every generation is historically myopic. When we get excited and emotional about stuff it clouds our judgment.

..Washington at the time was far smaller. The British originally approached the city to negotiate a truce, but were fired upon. Even then they did not target civilians or civilian structures, and left the Marine Commandant's house at the Marine Barracks intact out of respect. The Navy Yard was burned, however.... by American sailors.

Three thousand Americans died in a preventable sneak attack because W wouldn't have anything to do with any idea connected to Clinton, i.e., attention to Al Queda.

Madison was an idiot out of his depth, just like W, However, I cannot reconcile the litany of malfeasence and inneptitude and crimes against humanity of GW Bush with the dithering Madison.

    •  the country was VERY young (0+ / 0-)

Madison had reasons to do what he did.

Trying to compared Madison to Bush is very much apples and oranges.

Ever wish there were One Big Wiki-Style Clearinghouse for all the GOP Scandals? Well now there is.
