  •  Republicans SHOULD vote Laffey (5+ / 0-)

I though they professed to have integrity.  I thought they had the courage of convictions.  If they re-nominate Chafee, they're selling out their values and abandoning everything they stand for, for the sake of electoral security.

But also I would like to warn Kossacks that if Laffey does win, it will DEFINATLEY not be the easy win we expect.  Laffey has a powerful ally in the Club for Growth, and Republicans around the country are going to see this as a last stand for their party in NE.

It sucks living next door to Richard Nixon.

was the most liberal state in the country. Don't Democratic voters trump the wingnut Club for Growth?

and one-party rule for decades has made for more corruption here than one might have hoped. Laffey is seen as a reformer here, and there is some truth to it, however one might feel about his beliefs.  Here, Republicans are the underdogs; and Rhode Islanders like their Cinderella stories as well as any other Americans.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Stephen Laffey is not a right-wing fanatic in any recognizable sense of the term... and he is not an easy brush-off. Lincoln Chafee has learned that, win or lose. I suggest we do the same.
