    we rely on progressives to vote against their own economic interests all the time and don't consider it stupid.  
    I don't think that a wealthy person who is nonetheless against capital gains tax cuts is stupid - I think they're enlightened.  It's all a question of priorities, and where your own individual economic well-being ranks on your list as compared to issues that you consider being 'for the greater good.'
