    The idea is not to worry about the traps, but to know what to do about them. In most fields, knowing how to avoid the major mistakes is called "competence."

    And one of Lakoff's overriding messages is to go for the deep progressive values. That means speaking up for what is right.  Webb is doing exactly that, and avoiding the "Poll trap." I think that people falling into that trap is what is really making you sick.
