his national interest is temporarily aligned with the national interest of that leader

we support a leader that boils opponents in oil, and many leaders who support not just stoning of women but their rape as punishment for the sins of male relatives

guilt by association is kinda nonsensical in international relations

Stop advocating for invasion you Bush lover!

It's ok when Chavez attempts a coup because he says he loves the poor and trashes that devil Bush...it is NOT okay when a coup gets attempted at him! No way, he was democratically elected!!!! And Carlos Andres Perez...was well....um....uh... the rich elected him!!!...or something...

Chavez has been condmened for lack of electoral transparency. He was condmened by the International Labour Organization. Check out his infamous "Enabling Act" that allowed him to rule by decree. Look up Sumate which tried to enact the recall provision of the constitution by getting 2+ million signatures only to get knocked down by Chavez. They then turned around and got 3+ million in 4 days and again Chavez turned down the democratic request for a recall election. And when riots finally got the recall vote in 04 the EU refused to monitor because of the extreme limitations Chavez put on them to observe.

He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future.
