    Enough Talk Lets Get Busy

of greater involvement at all the levels you specify so well.  My hopes for the Netroots are probably as great as your own.

But the answer that "not enough people will do that" is itself insufficient, if one is proposing a tactic that bears the leverage we are seeking to wield.

When we are brainstorming the pathways to recovering our Constitutional Republic, ALL methods of exerting political force MUST BE CONSIDERED.

I am here attempting to overcome the prejudice that Democrats have against considering the financial complicity they have in torture, invasion, and in the end, their own dis-enfranchisement.

We have gone around the corner, into a new landscape, where a "return" to a Democratic majority is not going to fix all that needs fixing.  We are talking about rolling back Fascism, an effort that is without a very good track record in human history.

I am also attempting to dispel the myth of "jail" for tax refusal, which is about as likely as being struck by lightning on your way to the Post Office on April 15.

The tactic I speak of is, by the way, only a part of  ORGANIZING a sufficient number of Citizens who will explore mass civil disobedience on all fronts.  The "safety in numbers" and possible anonymity of the Internet give us the chance to explore new tactics.  On the continuum of possible actions, I believe this one is severely neglected, and your post shows this.  (Usually, however, no one even replies -- thus my pessimism at our chances overall.)

As for whether sufficient numbers would join, well, that is the job of ORGANIZERS.  To recognize and recommend actions that may be taken by more citizens.

Do I believe that sufficient people -- via sufficient ORGANIZING -- are likely to "rescue" us by this program?

At this point, actually, no.  There are too many divisions, misunderstandings, and the sheer inability to parse logical thoughts in sequence, on both Right and Left.  That is how far we have fallen.

But I believe it would be OUR BEST CHANCE, if it were to sail onto the screens of anti-Fascist progressives, such as we find here.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott was not just a half dozen people, and the lunch counters were "sat-in", not boycotted.  The tactic was chosen to fit the situation.

The Right rallied from the Goldwater debacle via its churches (the remnant of the old White Supremacist impulse, gone underground) and we may hopefully find the Internet, as in dKos, to be our rallying point.

I am an impatient man (I've been at this political game since 1960, trying to stop Nixon), with life issues that do not allow massive involvement in trying to rehabilitate the Democratic Party, although I see the value of it, and would recommend it to anyone in their 20s, with decades still to burn.

I try to contribute at the point where my leverage will be its greatest.

And, I try to apply the moral query of "What if everyone did as I do?"

Well, this War would be over, de-funded at its source, "the People."

Find your Oppressor; look in the mirror...

If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State...
