    (and I felt the same way when I was "only" a parent) would be to avoid letting my child become part of a global scandal, and a conversation issue among his peers.

    It's not easy for me to admit this, because I've been a rape crisis counselor and I am gay. I know that silence equals death. But it is the truth. The parents' reaction in this case is entirely understandable. Even if a person has an agenda to expose all such vicious predatory behavior, the cost of such exposure to one's own child is too high a price for a normal parent to readily pay.

    Although I feel sure you meant well with your post, 4thepeople, "a kind of pimping" is definitely the wrong phrase to use in describing them. All of us need, also, to remember that WE will be judged by the compassion and empathy (or lack thereof) we show toward the victims here: the pages and their parents.
