  •  Aide Kirk Fordham Has A History (7+ / 0-)
One more thing just to rub more salt in the wound, you may remember that Mel Martinez is the same bastard that ran an extremely homophobic campaign to get elected last year. He ran radio ads that compared life in a country with same-sex marriage to life under Castro, and most offensively, the public homo-hater employed two gay advisers for his campaigns (those guys have to be head cases), John Dowless and Kirk Fordham.

Openly gay Fordham was employed as Martinez's finance director.

    •  No, there are not two Kirk Fordhams (5+ / 0-)
Rep. Tom Reynolds (R-N.Y.) has two new staffers full of conviction for their constituents in the 26th District of New York.

L.D. Platt, the new communications director, said he will occasionally visit the western New York district "to make sure people know what Reynolds is doing in D.C." Meanwhile, Kirk Fordham, the new chief of staff, will focus on collaboration with the New York delegation on economic reform in western New York. Fordham previously served as Rep. Mark Foley's (R-Fla.) chief of staff and was the finance director for Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.).

    •  Gay Repub homophobes. (10+ / 0-)

It never ceases to amaze me how these Republican gay guys, e.g., this Fordham guy and Ken Mehlman (say), gaybash to advance their own careers.

They are too self-interested and arrogant to realize it's only a matter of time before THEY are told to get into the next cattle car.  And their time will come.  Because if the right does it to someone else, they WILL do it to you.  Just a matter of time.  (See, e.g., howler of a mea culpa from gay journalist David Brock turning from conservative to faux liberal after being swept like yesterday's trash from conservative circles in DC.  Far too little, far too late.)

I remember back in 1996 that one of Pat Buchanan's top aides was gay.  I thought, WTF.

What kind of self hatred and internalized homophobia must a person have, to do that kind of thing?  It can't be for the money, the pay's not that good.  Is the desire for power so great, that you betray others like yourself?

I guess I already know the answer.

        •  Never knew that about Buchanan's aide. (0+ / 0-)

Although his sister Bay was his campaign manager while he campaigned against women's rights.  Go figure.

About Gay Repubs, I always shake my head about that.  I'll spare you my armchair psychoanalysis, but carrying water for bunch of toughtalking guys doesn't make the water carrier one of the gang, that's for sure.

For more on Gay Repubs, see TRex diary on Matt Drudge over at FireDogLake.  On denial, he states that nothing turns your ass into a target as much as sticking your head in the sand (or up your ass).  Colorful.  HERE.

    •  The journey of Kirk Fordham (0+ / 0-)

Sounds like this guy has been in on a lot of dirt. I mean, a LOT. First he's top a aide to Congressman Predator from West Palm Beach, then he's suddenly chief of staff for the head of the NRCC?

A deeper investigation of K Fordham could yield plenty. If I were the DA or the FBI, I would consider applying pressure on this vulnerable point.

Poor sap. But, he did it to himself.

      How the mighty have fallen!
