Last night on Fox News, Sean Hannity devoted a large part of his show to the Foley scandal. But rather than discuss Foley’s behavior and the possible cover-up by the House leadership, Hannity focused on the timing of the release of Foley’s inappropriate emails and IMs, and wondered if they were “held back to maximize the political impact before an election.

    What a tool:

HANNITY: Do you find it a little more than curious that some of these instant messages that went back and forth are, you know, several years old, and were only released after the Republican primary election was finished, which makes it difficult to replace him on the ballot? Do you find the timing, the fact that they’ve had — some people have known about these for years, and that they’re only released at this point? Is that curious to you? [Snip]

HANNITY: Who knew? Why did they leak it now, 30- some-odd days out of an election, when they had this for three years? That’s a big question in my mind. [Snip]

If we had these emails and we'd really wanted maximum impact we'd have released them during the torture debate and prevented that abortion of a law from going through the House.

On the other hand, forcing the House Speaker and his Party House Campaign Committee chair to resign a 5 weeks before the election is a crippling blow to defending the House majority.

If Democrats really did leak this news to ABC for the maximum political damage, I commend them. With reservations only for the possibility that waiting could have left some other children in danger. Even in which case Republicans, who knew for years and run the House, are still the monsters here.

Just because it's the worst it could be for Hannity & fellow child molesters doesn't mean Democrats shouldn't do it.

That his own network is the reason it didn't come out earlier. Dumbass.

they would have been released in October 2004.  Duh.

And while I appreciate properly executed sleight-of-hand and misdirection, this jackass (and Rush and the rest of the noise machine) wants us to forget the biggest point:  THE SPEAKER'S OFFICE HAS BEEN HIDING THIS FOR YEARS!!!!

So, if the the Dems knew and held if it's despicable.  But Denny Hastert and John Boehner holding it is, well, it's ok.  Nothing to see here, move on.
