  •  They do exactly that on Dateline frequently. (5+ / 0-)

With adults writing the IMs -- no actual kids involved whatsoever.  The guys come to the house all ready to get busy and they end up eating sidewalk while NBC stands to the side and counts their ad revenues.

But does that get them any sympathy from the audience?  Hardly.  I asked my partner if it was entrapment and he didn't even care... kept yelling "But it's KIDS!"

These men are going there with the intent to manipulate and sexually abuse children. I have no sympathy for them. Peverted Justice has been doing it for years to go after preadators. I see nothing wrong with it.

I was just wondering about the legality of the sting operation.  What are they allowed to do without getting the case thrown out of court?

But that's not the point.  The point is that even when it's a total set-up sting operation, nobody has any sympathy for the perps.  Republicans would do better pushing an elephant up a hill with a rope than getting public sentiment to Foley's side.

I think it is legal for one reason. The producers said on one show that Perverted Justice makes sure that the perpetrators bring specific items like beer or alcohol. This usually is enough to establish intent.
