As soon as I saw her I thought of Ann Richards.  That is, admittedly, a superficial observation.  But if it holds up I know we can always use more people like that on our team.

My only quibble is with this:

The question of Heller's ethics is now out there, and bound to help Derby, though she isn't pushing it.

Why the hell not?  We've got to be agressive and even downright mean if we want to take this country back.  How do you think the Repugs got to where they are now?

That in that district there is no need to "push" the issue. If it's a smallish community population wise and even if it is spread out people talk, they know one another, they pass along info and just "know" as they nod or shake their heads.

Now this could be my small town, country upbringing but that is how these things work, all that's needed is a seed to be planted and the rest takes care of itself.

      •  I hope you're right (0+ / 0-)

I'm sure she has a better feel for the people of her area than I do (obviously).  I just hope that she is making her decision based on those kinds of considerations and not some sissified notion that Dems must be "polite" or risk coming off as shrill.

of the people in that area might not like the negativity if she started attacking her opponent like that.  In small-town Texas, you don't see a whole lot of attack ads for that reason - or at least, not in the small-town Texas that I know.
