Gosh no, that's never the way.

    It's never EVER about money.

      friggin sense.

If my fellow tinfoil accusing Kossacks were in charge of the Foley scandal... they would have "withheld judgement" like Hastert for chrissakes!

I'm updating the diary to make sure that "Follow the Money" is mentioned.

Goddam, people need catchphrases in this frickin country... I've got to remember that.

Back before 9/11, that's what the Bushies were all about -- the missile shield.

The missile shield is like 72 virgins in heaven for the defense contractors.   It's a big money teat for them, something they can milk forever and ever.

Because as you build one missile shield?   You have to build a new one.   As soon as you're done with that, well it's obslete and you have to build yet ANOTHER and more expensive one.

        And so on ... forever.

Because any engineer or systems analyst who works in this field will tell you there is one very simple way to render any missile shield obsolete -- and that is to simply throw more stuff at it than it's designed to handle.

Right now they can barely handle one, and that's one that they actually control.

So they need more billions ..... for more years ...... to make the missile shield work better .... and better ....

Believe me, the big rationale for the missile shield was (and is) North Korea.   Who else is gonna be stupid enough to throw ICBMs at us?   Iran?  Too many years away to have that capability.   I mean, they can milk that "threat" down the road, but NK is right up.  And if they're not, we can still say they are.

But I don't think they'll pull that off, and I think they know it.

But they'll try, for damn sure.

In the end, I think it's too much a government program. And it's bullcrap. So eventually, it'll get sacked.

They were saying on Franken's show that using smaller scale missile defense stations closer to the targets would be infinitely more effective. That could very well happen as a "concession" by the neocons... (if they aren't wiped out of government soon) ie what they were hoping for.

But the corporate business of selling nukes...

          That will happen.
