  •  You can hardly blame him (11+ / 0-)

It's what all the DC consultants agree on. There's no point in contesting races outside the expensive media markets - from their point of view, anyhow. No expensive ads = lower commissions.

New Hampshire went for Kerry and for Lynch. We did our part. Now it's time to add Paul Hodes to that list.

I think Trump (Gack!) even used that old saw to fire somebody and lambaste a team on the Apprentice a few years ago.

Trippi was even in love with his sweet commission deal, if memory serves. Funny thing is political marketers have been selling "agency commission" deals and media-buy cleverness that corporate America said "Fuck that shit" to years ago.

And here I was thinking it was the also-keen advice, "Never prod a Selleck you don't believe in," ruefully known to directors who tried and failed to get a better performance from their third-choice star, Mr. Baseball himself.

This has been your daily dose of Spoonerism. To prevent follow-ups to it, the ultimate in thoughtless names: Shiloh Pitt.

but Selleck's a great example of the impulse buy syndrome of Shrum et al. He gets credit for all those  unworn hawaiian shirts hanging in closets. "Hmm, if I buy this, chicks will dig me and appealing sporty persona." Yep, sounds just like Shrummy and Brazile and their fingers in the wind.

      •  I don't watch The Apprentice (0+ / 0-)

...but aren't they handed a product not of their choosing and instructed to sell it willy-nilly?

(not disagreeing with your point, however)
