Anyone wanting to see Pennsylvania state government in Democratic hands should consider volunteering with

Matt Smith is running for State Rep in District 42 (Greentree, Mount Lebanon, parts of Bethel Park).  This is a potential pickup after the "moderate" Republican was defeated in the Primary by a 21-year-old wingnut and Santorum/Toomey acolyte Mark Harris.  PA State Rep districts only have about 35,000 registered voters, so even a little bit of volunteer time has a greatly disproportionate effect.

Also, Shawn Flaherty will be defending his recent pickup of HD-30 (Fox Chapel, Shaler area).

Finally, Chelsa Wagner is running in HD-22.  I'm not sure what the ballot situation is here, but her Republican opponent ex-Democrat Michael Diven didn't get on the Primary ballot because he has dead people's signatures on his petition.  He may have gotten on through write-ins for the General.  Does anyone know?  In any case, Wagner looks strong in this Democratic district.  Should be another pickup.

If we can manage to take or hold all of these seats, we will have gotten 2 of the 9 seats required in Allegheny County alone.
