  •  This district is NOT that Republican (2+ / 0-)

Yes, Idaho is an extremely "red" state.  But this district had a Democrat Rep. from 1990-94 (Larry LaRocco) and very nearly had another Democrat in 1996 when Dan Williams lost by less than 2 percentage points to the crazy (recently deceased) Helen Chenoweth.  So can we please stop it with the "Can you believe the Democrats are even competing in Idaho???"  They've competed, and won, here in the not-too-distant past.

    •  Plus with all us California transplants... (0+ / 0-)

...who are used to being politically active, we have a shot at taking the ground war. I've already volunteered a few hours for Larry and the county Democratic party and I can see the slow building effects.

The trick here is beating the party-line voters who don't watch the coverage, but who show up to vote for the "R" every election.

      •  are you in CDA? (0+ / 0-)

I wonder about the California effect.  I have been afraid that the transplants are a bunch of SOCAL orange county, san diego types, not really helpful to our side.

        Talk doesn't cook rice.
