simply b/c she's a beautiful woman - that fact gives her a 5% advantage out of the proverbial gate.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it :)

She's Attila the Hun in a skirt. Check out her positions on women's issues sometime if you're in the mood for a good scare.

I say Palin's sex winds up hurting her in the general.  There are still a handful of AK conservatives who just wont vote for a woman.  Somehow Lisa M made it through that hurdle which I think was due to the high visibility and putting a R back in D.C.  My gut feeling is that this race just doesnt play out that way.

I also have to believe that Knowles ground game is equal to or better than Palin's as he still has all the info and some of the infrastructure from the 04 Senate run.  That may be worth a couple points in the end.

      •  good points, esp. Knowle's ground game (0+ / 0-)

      •  question for you (0+ / 0-)

Who's going to run for Senate if Stevens retires?

        I assume Knowles won't.

So will it be Berkowitz? Croft? Someone else?

I'd say if Uncle Ted goes in the next couple years then TK would run.

If not, then I have no idea. I'm not sure if Eric or Ethan would run. Maybe Hollis French, though word is he'd go for Don Young's seat first.

I think John Binkley would be the Rep. candidate, and he might be hard to beat-there may be a sympathy vote after he was passed up in '02 (to Lisa) and losing so handily to Palin in the primary.

I don't know if it's just because she is a beautiful woman or not, what concerns me is that Alaska is among the reddest of the red states, and the citizens of Alaska are among the most self-centered citizenry, we only seem to care about our interests and about our republican leaders singlehandedly developing to exhaustion every resource in the state without looking at the big picture (See: Pebble Mine, ANWR)

I am glad for Tony, I have supported him since I have been old enough to vote, and I hope that he can pull it off.
