Well, its over in Virginia.  If what Drudge is reporting is true, Webb has written a novel which includes child abuse as a theme.  This could be big, much worse than Foley was for the Republicans.

Have you ever heard of the idea of FICTION? Novels? That bear on difficult subjects?

I doubledare Allen to run an ad on that/

first, or at least not reported the story by repeating Drudge's frame before having checked out the details.

For instance, I looked up "Lost Soldiers" on, and the user comments there were very positive, except for one that had to do with writing style rather than content.  There are a couple of vets who posted positive reviews.  The critical reviews are very favorable.  Absolutely none of the comments, nor the review, make mention of the questionable content Drudge and Allen are trumpeting.  That makes me believe that the passage being quoted from that book makes more sense in context.

Unfortunately, yes, this could be an issue that could be hard to counter, since most Virginia voters aren't going to bother to read the novel(s), especially if people such as yourself simply repeat the Repug frame without doing any research.

can tell the difference between a fictional sexual incident in a published work and covert enticement via lewd and digusting emails of real children.

If Allen wants to make something of it, how about if Webb takes a few choice quotes out of Lynn Cheney's book and some more out of Scooter's book and publishes them? Maybe you could research that for Webb's campaign.
