    when by your own admission you have no idea of the details (and I'm not the one who troll-rated you).

    Novels feature all kinds of unpleasant topics.  Sometimes it's just prurience, sometimes it's for worthy reasons.  Nothing in the reviews I've found on Webb's work so far indicate that this was sheer prurience; they indicate that he writes rather serious works of fiction in which he explores many issues.

    I just find it really odd that you're so quick to assume an unworthy reason for a scene that involves child molestation when you haven't read the book, and that, going by what you posted above, apparently can't think of any worthy reason for such a scene.

    Your argument reminds me somewhat of people who argue that the Harry Potter books advocate witchcraft, or that "Huckleberry Finn" is a racist book because it has the n-word in it, completely missing one of the central themes of the novel.
