"I believed it when they told me" is stronger and more direct than "I believed it when I was told".

However I was thinking about how the original sounds sorta like: i believed it when i was told (because i am a stupid bahhhhing sheep with no mind of my own)
The truth is that they asked for our trust....and some of us gave it.
They asked me to trust them when they said: we were invading Iraq because Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
They asked me to trust them when they said: "mission accomplished".  Three years later am I still to trust them?

      •  It's even stronger if... (3+ / 0-)

you use "I believed them when they told me..."

It directly connects the lies to the liars.

      •  By the way..... (0+ / 0-)

I never ever EVER trusted those bastards....i guess I was just pitying the foooolzz who did!  Pitying fools? hmmmmm
I was and I am nauseatingly enraged at the war enablers!  All of them: the press, the politicians, the voters, the babblers, the post invasion enlisters, the hypocritical chicken hawks who never served, any and all war hawks!
I remember yelling and nooooo one seemed to be listening:  AMERICA America! if this simple woman in central florida knows this is a War of Whim then why the hell don't you?

I apologize for now seeming to give a crap if those idiotic enablers now feel like stupid bahhhhing sheep with no mind of their own?

        Jeezz Bleeding Heart, coagulate thyself!
