thread. I felt that TN has the right to choose any candidate they want to represent them and it was not my place to go on a diary that was trying to generate support for him and try to dampen that support.

The only reason I have decided to comment now is that the diary asked the community to respect their candidate and their culture. I agree with that request and I also think that the door needs to swing both ways. What do I mean by that? I am a firm supporter of Ned Lamont. On every Lamont thread there have been southern supporters advocating dumping him and supporting Ford or Webb. Some have been rather insulting to the point of calling people crazy liberals that are destroying the party with by our choice. This is a recent example of one of those types of comments.

Most Americans don't like John Kerry any more than I do and given the number of F-bombs tossed around here my comments were mild. Moderate Democrats like me are the difference between victory and defeat for Dem candidates, and moonbats who waste their energy and money on John Kerry and Ned Lamont hurt the cause more than my Bierce-esque barbs. Ever think how much better off Jim Webb and Harold Ford Jr. would be if moonbats had invested in them all that was lavished on Ned Lamont?

My point in all of this is that it is a two way street. Respect generates respect and attacking each others candidates does not generate support.

Moonbats is a rightwing word, is the person you're quoting a troll on daily kos or is the quote taken from another site?

used in a derogatory manner is also a right wing talking point that has been used frequently on this site when supposedly debating issues. I have several times had this talking point (combined with morons, extreme left wing etc.) thrown in my face in the last several weeks particularly in regards to supporting Lamont rather than Ford or Webb.

Had it been just one response of this type from one person I would not have brought the subject up at all. My point was and is that that there is a small group from each side of the political spectrum that doesn't help generate support and that it is not an one-sided issue.

Then again I wasn't born and raised in TN, I just happen to be unlucky by having the company I worked for to bring me to TN.

      GO Lamont!  DUMP Lieberman!

      Harold is wrong!
