    them.  Which is frustrating.  If you ask them how Israel is safer now than 6 years ago they evade the question and call you naive.  

    Fortunately my parents are part of the latter category.  It's pretty endearing seeing my late 60's Jewish mom and dad going out to show up at a Lamont rally.

    Engenders a lot of warm sentiment, that's for sure.  

    Just another American against the war.

      I have a friend who's very passionate about gay rights, moderate on most other social issues, and rather scornful of tax cuts for the rich, the war in Iraq, and the folks in Washington in general. She supported Bush in '04. Why? "He's good for Israel."

      But I don't think that's the kind of person Joe's support is coming from... I think it's mostly people who have always voted for him, like him, and think he's a good Democrat.
