    You can drop off the ballot at boxes around town. Washington isn't the same?

      You mail your ballot in (must be postmarked no later than election day) or drop it off at your County Elections Department.  

      I'm not sure I see the need for additonal boxes around town when mailboxes are ubiquitous, but then I'm not familiar with the Oregon experience - & they do seem pleased over all.

        Ballot must be received at either a drop site or the county elections office by 8pm election day--postmarks don't count.
        If you don't mail it by Friday then you have to drop it off or risk it not being counted.
        They actually send you you a letter informing you if your ballot got there too late to be counted.
