I'll fill it out while you wait to sign it and collect your $100.

If you're not angry, you've already given up.

    •  Ok, and if I'm selling my vote, (0+ / 0-)

then I have to trust that this whole highly illegal operation, in which I'm now legally culpable by signing my ballot envelope, won't be discovered.

I really don't think it's very attractive as a method of effective fraud.

Also, only regular voters will be getting ballots (you're put on dormant status if you don't vote for several elections), and they'd presumably care about voting and not want to participate in such a thing.  So, you'd probably have to do a registration drive first to register a bunch of people willing to sign their names up for a potential election fraud conviction.

      •  It will be "discovered" (0+ / 0-)

just as fast as Diebold will, right?

        •  Well, I think there are many more opportunities (0+ / 0-)

for it to be discovered. There have to be a lot more people involved, and there are definitive records with names and signatures. That combined with needing a lot more effort (as opposed to tweaking one value tracelessly in a computer system during the final tally) puts a lot more barriers in place.

Again, I conceed that it's not perfect, but still contend it's one of the best options currently available.
