signed some oil contracts with China just before we invaded. I'd like to know if the was discussed at the Cheney Energy Meetings.

China might get Iraqi's first oil contract

Can US contractors be leaving Iraq because the cost to secure the oil fields will be too much, and seems China has become a player from deals signed pre-USA invasion:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - China and Japan have staked their claim to develop Iraq's vast oil reserves with Tokyo offering billions of dollars in loans and Beijing agreeing to renegotiate a deal signed with Saddam, Iraq's oil minister said Wednesday.

Hussain al-Shahristani was briefing reporters after a tour of Asia that took in the world's second biggest oil consumer China and its third biggest Japan -- both heavily dependent on imports and keen to secure future energy supplies.

Iraq, which has the world's third largest oil reserves, is in urgent need of billions of dollars in foreign investment after years of sanctions and war crushed the industry.

The Baghdad government is working towards its first foreign oilfield development contract and is readying a legal framework.

was contemplating trying to get oil pinned to the Euro rather than the dollar... and thought that this made sense as the real underlying economic corporate reason Bush and Cheney would kill 500,000 brown people and kill or maim 10's of thousands of Americans.

of economic angles, they had their motives. And yet, and probably because of that... the War in Iraq was certainly illegal.

The occupation is immoral, but was for the time... thought necessary.

Yet The War... which is now over, was illegal. And the criminals must be found and prosecuted.

And we can all now say that.

Nobody's arguing it wasn't a great gluttonous feast for American corporations... and whoo howdy. Great for them.

But the War was still illegal because Bush LIED. And his people LIED. And Powell LIED.

They LIED about the War in Iraq.

Nobody will EVER move Iraq back towards being "fixed" until we recognize and have accountability for Bush's LIES wrt an issue of War and the Constitution of the United States.
