  •  Today's news: Hastert may not serve (1+ / 0-)

Kos, you noted in your bittersweet post that it would have been great if Laesch had won.  Well, you still might be able to help!

Today's papers in the district are starting to talk about who will succeed Hastert, speculating that he may not even take office in January (like Newt), especially if it means he will have a greater say in who succeeds him on the ticket.  Given Denny's amazingly large ego, this is a distinct possibility.  Being back-benched is not sitting well with the coach.  He recently bought more farmland in Wisconsin.  He is obviously set to retire.

Names are already being bandied around for a special election.  And so far, despite having squeezed 77,000 votes (as many as our neiboring-district candidate Duckworth) out of ~$300k, it seems Laesch is still an "underdog".

One of the best possible things you can do is help us call in the big guns to get behind him.  John is a progressive, he ran a great campaign, and he has a great shot at it, if he gets that help.

Could we take another seat in the House?

    Impeachment begins in the House.

Just wanted to correct my previous comment's numbers, which were based on yesterday's data.  Numbers are still apparently coming in from Duckworth's district, and she now stands at just over 81,000 votes with 96% reporting.
