You fought the good fight, as did dKos' kanaih, as did Gary, and you should be PROUD and HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH.

People are what they are, and some you can't change.

Have to admit that, yesterday, I felt OK with knowing that I -- and everyone I know -- did all we possibly good to elect Gary. Still, as the exhaustion settled in so did the disappointment. I haven't felt this personally disappointed in a long time about a loss -- and I think it's because Gary was just such a good candidate.

Like others above, I'd like to think he'd give it another run. But that's asking for a huge commitment and I'm afraid it's not terribly realistic. WY doesn't have much of a track record of people trying for a seat more than once.

I'm very proud of having worked for Gary for so long and I'm glad that WY can at least point to Cubin and say that she did not get a majority of the vote. Still, it's hard to get over the idea that we just needed to find those last 1,000 people.

      •  Looks like too many pissed GOPers voted Rankin (0+ / 0-)

Or he got a lot of sympathy votes. Ugh.

        •  today, Rankin said (0+ / 0-)

that if he could give Trauner his votes, he'd gladly do so.

I think the vast majority of Rankin's votes came out of Cubin and probably would have just abstained from voting if Rankin had not been in the race. So I don't feel at all badly about his candidacy.

And, hey, we could still find the 38 votes by next Wednesday that would trigger and automatic recount. I haven't given up yet.

as Wyoming is my home, in my heart, your race was near and dear to me.

I get you on the personal thing, too.  On Monday night I was near tears with anticipation, having so much wrapped up in this race.

I wish I could say something that might be more meaningful kainah.  Next time I'm down your way, we will certainly co-miserate together - by that time we'll certainly have some good, current Cubin-bashing to do, no doubt.
