    She didn't risk the election by talking about impeachment. Yes, she took the conversation "off the table." For now.

    Now we have a majority. (I still have to pinch myself! It's a majority we need if this conversation is to be relevant. And it is!) Certain things must be investigated if they're to be set right by a legitimate Congress. What turns up in these investigations is anyone's guess [yeah, right] but Speaker Pelosi and her House may have no choice but to begin impeachment hearings once some of the evidence is heard. I think it may be out of her hands when we reach that point. The public and the Constitution will demand accountability.

    And so, justice may be done while preserving the "political capital" that will be needed to get the country back on its feet.

    I think Speaker Pelosi knows what she's doing. I think she has the country's best interest at heart. I'm willing to trust her judgement...for now.
