  •  And if he died in a hospital the last thing (17+ / 0-)

he probably saw was irrevocable proof of the fullofshittedness of his entire philosophy.  As he was no doubt treated by nurses.  And for the past 25 years at least there has been an international shortage of nurses.  Where shortages exist prices are to rise.  Which, of course, does not apply to nurses.

I am retiring as a nurse, after 21 years, and in that time I never received more than a three per cent raise.  I started at 11/hr in 1985 and ended up at 33/hr 21 years later.  That's a buck a year, over a career, duriing a severe international shortage.

Sorry, Miltie, you were full of shit and you fucked a lot of people with your screwball theories.

In D.C. they just take care of Number One, and Number One ain't you. You ain't even Number Two.

...I could write a Doctoral Thesis on "Pre-emptive First Strike Diplomacy" [and somebody probably will]but it doesn't mean a thing unless "the powers that be" actually ascribe to this inane primer on "How To Win Friends and Influence Enemies of America" and makes it official policy. A lot of politicians, etc. in very high places agreed with the Professor. The best way to debunk an economic theory? Don't give the bastard a Nobel Prize!

Milton, or any other within his trade (economics) that says they've received a Nobel Prize, isn't exactly truthful. There isn't any Nobel Prize wrt economics, rather there's a Swedish National Bank Prize to the Honor of Alfred Nobel. It just happens to be delivered at the same ceremony as the real Nobel Prizes. Why it is this way has it's historical origins. At the beginning the Swedish National Bank somehow sponsored the ceremony and that way managed to have it's own price delivered simultaneously. This was a great boon as it got the perceived status as a 'Nobel Prize'. That lead to others wanting to emulate the Swedish National Bank, but the Nobel Committee put a stop to this before any more harm was done. Alas, they couldn't get out of the deal with the Swedish National Bank.

      •  Accolades? Hitler was Times' man of the year (0+ / 0-)

Stalin was to.  What does a Nobel peace prime mean then, except some sort of reward for something?  The mass murderer Arafat has a Nobel Peace Prize.  George Tenet has the presidential medal of freedom.
