the links above are to sites who have, written in bold, things like HELP EXPOSE SECRET ISRAELI PLOTS TO STEAL STATE SECRETS.  It's harder for me to take sites like that seriously, even if the information is true: the ideology is too out front, so it makes the information harder to swallow.

I understand that the credibility issue is a sticky topic at best: what makes the New York Times credible, given their track record?  How can I make calls for neutrality when everyone is so damned not-neutral?  Can't we nitpick over any source?

The best method I've found, especially when you're dealing with really controverial information, is to find sites that are otherwise ideologically opposed.  That way, you can at least claim that you're getting similar information from sources that otherwise have no reason to agree.

There's no ideal formula for this: all I can say is that, given your two links in this diary, I wasn't overly convinced.  Which is a pity, because your writing and presentation are impeccable.

I'll check about for better links next time.  So many of these things I can just grab, they're repeated on website after website.  So I don't always notice if one particular website among several that contain the same quote happens to be a bit, shall we say, "less neutral".
