  •  Thanks, McJoan, for the diary (5+ / 0-)

Many of us worked our butts off for the Dem ticket in Idaho, and it was hard to take that we didn't win a single statewide election, especially since we had a slate of candidates that was head and shoulders and more above their Repub opponents.

I'm Dem chair for Idaho Leg. Dist. 35, which is a huge district geographically--5 counties and 1 precinct from another county.  We have only 2 county chairs and a dozen or so precinct captains, so the candidates were pretty much on their own.  But we worked and worked and made a lot of contacts.  Now in the next two years I think we can build the district by getting chairs and precinct captains.  For one thing people are no longer embarassed to admit they are Democrats, and many Republicans are fed up with their party.

I think we just need to keep making contacts and building the base.  Keep people informed by ltes and email lists.  Contribute in every way we can to the waking up process.

Except Duncan wasn't a mentat, he was a soldier and an ambassador to the Fremen.  It was his first ghola (clone) which was trained in the mentat ways and served emperor Paul Atreides.
