    On the other hand a $2M DOE grant can buy a sweet ride and nice condo in the Carib...R&D ya see.

    The world's best physicists are investing $12B and their lives and this bobo is building the sun in his garage...puleeze.

        I'd concede the point that he could take the money and run.  I'm just not that cynical I guess.  Seems very genuine in desire to build this.  I'm not saying it works.  I don't know.  Just saying it seems like a wise bet.

      impossible.  This high school student created nuclear fusion in his garage.  If a highschool student can do it, why not a trained, educated, and experienced physicist?
