He's a 50 year old old-school Catholic, and shows up every week with this worn blue sign declaring "Abortion Causes Breast Cancer".

he knows his sign is a lie. He doesn't care. You can show him everything in the world and it won't matter. The only thing that matters to people like him is that he gets his way, no matter what.

But thank you for the informative diary. Good work.

We have no future because our present is too volatile. We only have risk management. The spinning of the given moments scenario. Pattern Recognition. ~W. Gibson

But I truly believe that old liberal dictum, that people are inherently good, and that if you present them with all of the facts, they'll make good choices.

Of course he's been indoctrinated with the over-emotional propaganda of their side.  Words like "holocaust", "Abortion Mills", and "Pro-Death" make it difficult for reason and truth to persevere, but as Socrates had the Sophists, so too do we have the pundits to deal with.  Let's just avoid the hemlock punch.

      The Christian Right is neither.

That in spite of everything she still felt that people were really good at heart.  She probably felt that way because she was surrounded by liberals in hiding, she was hidden by liberals.  She wasn't "out there".  Until she was . . .

I can virtually guarantee you that none of those anti-choice, authoritarians give a rats ass about the Holocaust.  To them its all theoretical semantics.

My fantasy is to make it untheoretical.  To walk up to my friendly neighborhood right wing talk show host (we actually have one) and ask for his permission to have an abortion.  "Please sir, I'm 45 years old and have three children with disabilities, may I have an abortion?"

While I'm at it, there's another thing that really bothers me.  I don't know if anyone else has ever seen these Covenant Transport trucks with the sign on the back that says "It's not a choice, it's a child."  Who the F$%k asked them?!!

I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality. -- George Washington
