Man! Talk about giving aid and comfort to the McMenemy! It's not only the press that is complicit in this newest terrorist act, it's also the police, the FBI, and the Department of Justice who abet and facilitate terrorism; by not exposing it for what it is, they effectively cover it up.

Just think about what would happen if the Department of Justice started calling a spade, a spade here?  You know all those DOJ prosecutions of people who send money to "terrorist organizations" like the PLO?  The DOJ would have to start prosecuting people who make contributions to rightwing and religious fundie organizations that advocate or practice violence against abortion clinics and abortion practitioners.  And we all know that Bush isn't for one minute going to allow law enforcement to stand in the way of rightwing fund-raising! Ain't gonna happen.

    Left. Because it's right.

Every member of every organization that is even loosely affiliated with extremist anti-abortion views, even just people who showed up at meetings of groups indirectly related to other groups, would find themselves barred from air travel, wiretapped, surveilled, and otherwise harrassed.  (On the other hand, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing...)

Demanding equal treatment of all terrorist threats, would be the beginning of the end of the Reign of (the war on) Terror, that has been one and the same with the Bush "unitary executive" regime.

The contradiction would collapse in on itself. No one supports a war on their own communities, and as polling makes clear enough, only the fundies support Resident Bush anymore. His war on "terror" included.
