We are better than they are.  We will not stoop to vindictive and pointless investigations.  Instead, we should focus only on forming a more perfect union, where the inalienable rights of all are protected, the constitution is respected, etc.

The worst slippery slope we can start down is to punish or investigate or in any way interfere with the undeniable free speech rights of those we disagree with, other than to point out that they are wrong.

is it time to be an android, not a man?

My honest to god hope is that a Democrat uses the Patriot Act and the Gitmo prisons and tactics against wingnuts and theocrats who will soon turn to violent terrorists.  Some of them already are, like the guy who rammed his car into the women's health clinic in IA.

Just because they got away with it doesn't mean we should do that too. Two wrongs don't make a right (even if three lefts do). All we will have accomplished in that vein is to make everyone realize that we were no better than they were and reject us again in the future.

What we need is to tear down the corruption without leaving a stain behind. The Republicans will sense a stain even where there isn't on, no need to magnify that illusion with reality.

What I want stopped is the shredding of the bill of rights, magna carta and constitution, oh yeah the war crimes. These are not just wrong their illegal, criminal,if they are left standing the whole history and tenets of any democratic society goes down the tubes. It goes beyond politics. It goes beyond our time.

      would that include corporations?

The difference between a human and a corporation needs to be re-defined. I grew up in Delaware where this rule of corporations being persons was initiated. I saw the abuses of this practice first hand. The corporations are going to tie our hands behind our backs with that "persons" crap if we don't put an end to it.
