    She could have pleaded guilty, and paid a fine, but SHE decided to waste prosecutorial resources by forcing a trial.    
    She should just plead guilty and pay the fine.  

    I don't have the same response as you in 3, but if you do, no biggie by me.

    On 4, I don't agree.  Every US citizen is guaranteed the right to a trial by jury regardless of the circumstances.  I applaud her for that.  

    The verdict was overturned by the Supreme Court.

    Now, if the prosecutor decides to take this back to trial, it will be an incredible waste of resources.  That, at the very least, should piss off taxpayers.

    Cuffing them, removing them from the scene, issuing a ticket, and giving a warning of potential arrest, would easily have accomplished the same thing.  If any of them wanted to contest the ticket it would have gone to traffic court.  If any of them decided to return to stand in the roadway, then an arrest makes a little more sense.
