    (and now I can't find it again) - one of them said he was going to resign his seat after the stroke on the condition that the governor give the job to his wife. He refused, so Mundt in turn refused to resign. For those three years he missed every single vote because he was incapable of doing his job.

    I really have to wonder how the public is served in those cases.

      The timing on this is extremely suspicious and convenient for Republicans.

      I have yet to hear any of the talking heads report on how many of this senator's relatives have, or had, this "congenital" medical condition.

      I'm not yet ready to buy into the idea that this illness wasn't somehow contrived by those who do not wish the Congressional oversight promised by the Democrats.

        potent opponents of the GOP, such as Mel Carnahan and Paul Wellstone, and the corporate-sponsored MSM focus such absurd cardboard cutouts as Vilsack, Obama, Edwards and Clinton, one has to wonder.
