    but resources are spent anytime a person is lost (provided it wasn't due to Katrina....well, except for the Coast Guard who did do its job....).  This news is getting a lot of coverage, probably more than is due.

    I had a laugh when the media's first reaction was that it was an odd coincidence that first the Kim family was lost in Oregon....and now it is mountain climbers.  I think if they could have connected Oregon to terrorism, they would have done it.

    By the way, in many instances, people are charged for being rescued.  If you get yourselves in trouble in the Grand Canyon (too often caused by stupidity), they send you a big bill to cover the expense.  I think it's true for the other National Parks also.
