    was that they weren't competing with each other or trying to show off.  It is a very solid and understated album.

    Ron co-wrote the first song with Miles Davis a long time ago.  It really sets the stage for the rest of the CD.

      with each other. Carter is to the bass what Sonny Rollins is to the sax. A legend. I do know what you mean though. Sometimes I think fellow Philadelphian Stanley Clarke, who I think is great, tries to over-do his leads a little.
