  •  Simple math. I think. (12+ / 0-)

     I think I'm stating the obvious, but . . .

You out there who are more demographically and statistically and analytically astute than me tell me how off-base I am with this:

Given that Fox News is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the GOP, and the most fringe, right-wing of the GOP (not that there's much else of it these days); and,

Given that (a) Bush's poll numbers continue to hover in the low to mid 30's and that (b) the GOP was handed its ass by the electorate in November; and,

Given that those most likely to be all hot-and-heavy Fox News viewers are also, generally, the most hardest core of the likely-GOP voters; then,

Doesn't it seem that with the downward fortunes of Bush/the GOP into the land of the unpopular and/or irrelevant and/or distasteful (at least in the minds of the American voter -- who ALSO happens to be the most-likely-to-watch-cable-news), Fox News would also be expected to spiral down into the toilet of public unpopularity/irrelevancy/distaste?

Funny thing is, that O'Reilly and Hannity, who (like Bush) are only capable of hearing the bleating accolades of their devoted, cultist followers are exhorting Bush and the GOP to become more militantly Right Wing and bigoted and war-mongering!  Uh, o.k., that'll really score 'em more points with the American public!

     Am I wrong here?

They LOVE zero-sum situations, especially profiting by others' losses, and they will quit watching fox and abandon the republicans because they are now "losers".

You can't get away with the crunch, 'cuz the crunch always gives you away
