  •  I haven't known him that long! (0+ / 0-)

I didn't meet him at Yearlykos.  I first met him when he asked me to review a diary on education he was planning to put up, and after some email exchanges I offered to buy him a couple of beers and we met at Hawk & Dove.   We have stayed in touch, and the recent Netroots gathering in DC came about partially as a result of some exchanges we had (it was HIS idea, I don't take credit for that, but I had some part in provoking him to come up with the idea).

That was in August, if memory serves, and I have been thinking about it ever since.  I actually think it might turn out to be an open seat -  Liddy is no spring chicken, she's now in the minority, and unless she is likely to be fully in synch with the presidential campaign she might think it is not worth the effort given the likelihood she could lose.

Liddy runs the GOP Senate committee again and repeats her '06 bang-up job, squanders even more resources fending off the nuttiest of right-wing nut jobs running against the few remaining non-totally lunie GOP incumbents AND loses her own seat - what's not to like?

don't run the NRSAC.  not trying to invade your dream scenario but we'll likely not have the chance to have her repeat 06 and have her lose her seat in the same year.  (sigh)

    •  This is what I'm talking about (0+ / 0-)

none of us knows all the things he has done for the netroots, it's just incredible.  What do you say ken, should we start a movement without him? and an ActBlue site?

The only problem is the rumors that Easley really IS running for the Senate and that is why no one else has jumped into the race.
