He has demonstrated, tonight, that he has no idea of how to resolve any of this, and he is only determined to blow it up even more.

He cannot tell us where this is supposed to lead, he cannot tell us what "victory" is, he cannot tell us when the nightmare will be over.  He can only promise to escalate it forever and ever.

That is madness, absolutely.  It's like Hitler invading Russia.  It's like Stalingrad.

he did tell us that victory no longer looks like victory... So we won't recognize it when we achieve it.   Who knows? Maybe we won already, only we weren't paying attention and missed it?

    •  corrections about you, me, and Hitler: (0+ / 0-)
      1. Hitler, in the end, was sending imaginary troops to Russia. I heard it on the radio today.

      Regiments that didn't exist.

      1. You, me, and others were correct all along--about Saddam, WMDs, imminent threat (NOT), etc. Bush & Co. were wrong (so far). HOWEVER, take a deep breath and put yourself in the shoes of the other side:  They think we are DELUDED and in denial about the severity of the threats to America's survival.

They frame the issue in terms of the long run. And we look dangerous to them.
