    Satellite frequencies are our frequencies too.  Commercial companies can go cable or internet.  I like the way you think.

    Cellular phone frequencies are ours too and we ought to operate them a lot differently than just handing them out to corporations to do with as they please.

      True, but there's a lot more spectrum space available in the satellite bands than there is in the AM/FM/TV broadcast bands, so that's less of an issue. And that's before factoring in digital encoding and compression.

      Besides, it's rather cumbersome to attach a very long cat-5 network cable to a car radio, iPod, etc.
