  •  If you think LA's like that, try OC or San Diego. (0+ / 0-)

LA is DEFINITELY more cosmopolitan than either one. LA feels more like a "Border Town" than San Diego does, that's for sure. LA is a vibrant mix of hundreds of cultures. We might have our share of wingnuts but they are more balanced out than our neighbors to the South in the OC and SD.

You want 30 small mid-western towns sitting next to each other? Go south of Santa Fe Springs on the I-5.

Wes? HELL YES!!! Clark/[your v.p. candidate here] 2008!

    •  Orange County - I'll do what I can to NOT (0+ / 0-)

even go there for flight connection! That is one scary place. I may have given the wrong impression in my comment - I love the diversity of the cities like El Monte and San Gabriel among others, and the inner suburbs of LA proper. Maybe more of the midwest transplants have moved to OC in the past 10 years.

Sanity will be restored as soon as I find the back up tapes!

      •  Depends on what part of O.C. (0+ / 0-)

Granted that the vast majority of that area is uber conservative WASP, but a few sections are multi-cultural liberal to moderate (compared to the rest of OC) - an example would be Loretta Sanchez's district.
