I just read your sig ... bless you, my child.

I've been haunted by memories of a news report on one of the major networks (maybe NBC) a couple of months before the 2003 invasion. The report was based out of Baghdad and showed the beauty of the architecture in that city, and how Iraqis were going about their business despite the looming war.

I thought then that Dubya was making a HUGE mistake and innocent people would pay a heavy price. How I wish I would have been proven wrong.

Forgive us, because we do not know what we do.

-7.38, -5.23 One day we ALL will know the truth about the 2000 presidential election. God help us all.

      set our world back 16.
Used to be climate change, alternative energy, peace dividend, were baselines, we were starting to think globally, act locally. Then came Skimpy.

      Human suffering will always exist...
but for us to intentionally inflict suffering of this magnitude
      absolutely unnecessarily...

we will all now learn from this unforgivably egregious recklessness

I know it is getting better now, ande not a friggin moment too soon

we may come out of this stronger in some ways than before.

Used to be, we were talking about climate change as a hypothetical.  Hell, that was -- what, two, three years ago?

Today, next to nobody denies what's going on.  Hell, we even converted Pat Robertson.

Throw in Peak Oil, and I'll start believing there's hope for the country.

          recently attributed to ben franklin
          the statement
democracy is like two wolves and a lamb
voting on what to have for dinner...
(come on wolves, damnit, not so selfish!!)

          and then

          thou shalt not kill
          has been around awhile
but it hasn't really caught on

          still, I agree with you.
this administration's deranged absence of empathic vision will stand as an emphatic cautionary tale for future humans
