    it's infringement to paste the whole thing, unless clear license is given.  excerpted stanzas (or in the case of songs, verses) are okay, so perhaps people in the poetry diaries can be encourage to provide a lick and a promise... err... a link and a stanza, i mean ;-)

      ...even a recognizable word may be too much.  Fair use rights have been so whittled down as to be almost meaningless.

      Assume you have no rights.  In this IP culture we live in, you pretty much don't have any.

        As a practial matter, the site would not get busted for posting excerpts like that.

        My apologies to students who took my U.S. Government class in the 90s: evidently the Constitution doesn't limit Presidential power after all. Who knew?

          "busted" is an appropriate term for criminal law

          copyright is civil law ... in these cases, it sucks if ya gotta lawyer up ... costs of defending can be extraordinary ...

          the wise one does not wish to be exposed at all
