    See my post below. The site you reference is talking about Chinese, but Gore was talking about his trip to Japan where in fact the word "kiki" does have symbols for opportunity and danger.

    Look it up -- here is an example

      Japanese kanji is largely taken from Chinese hanzi, despite sometimes drastically different pronunciations.

      and, when I heard, I am almost certain that he said Chinese -- not Japanese ... but ... worth checking up on ...

      And, he says Chinese in introduction to the AIT book:

      As many know, the Chinese expresession for "crisis" consists of two characters side by side [characters].  The first is the symbol for "danger," the second the symbol for "opportunity."
