for your deep analysis on this.

....bush does not care. the democrats aren't going to do enough. the republicans have so watered down the resolution that it is even more meaningless---if that were possible---as the original.

the troops are already there. nancy won't cut the funding. russ has the only legislation that matters.  and, upon my last check of it, it has the grand total of THREE, yes THREE co-sponsors...

i do not intend to demean your diary, and your query on why republicans are acting---well, as republicans---filthy lying murdering bastards, but, i am more discouraged about the first month of 'democratic rule'

thanks for the heads up on cspan2---i had demurred to comedy central for the afternoon, but, now am listening to the tripe.

to insist that their senators filibuster the thing.

Not that I understand why they should be so scared.

...does more than block it. in this case, it highlights by extending the 'the democrats are with the terrorists' meme that the republicans need to pound into the undecideds to win in 2008.

i am listening to joe 'i am a piece of dogshit' lieberman babbling on and on about the 'message' the democrats are sending...

so, i am not going to say the republicans are doing this merely to not get on the record---no, i think they are doing this to create more and more soundbites for fox news and for election commercials in 2008.

one of the rules of understanding these war-mongering lying bastards is that one should never assume things are as they appear...they usually have several other reasons for their propaganda...
