...let's say you forgot your ID, and you live 30 miles from a polling place.  Or it's on your way home and you don't have it on you.  Do you go home, go back, show it, and vote?  Or do you just not care and say, "what the heck?"

Also, it also depresses the senior and minority votes as these two groups are statistically less likely to have major forms of photo ID (drivers licenses).

who tend to be poorer because they might not have an ID with a current address. In Ohio this was eventually ruled unnecessary and that drivers' licenses with old addresses would be accepted. Unfortunately this also did not filter down to every polling place, and many people in certain areas (depending on poll workers' interpretation) were forced onto provisional ballots which didn't always count (again, depending on where you were).

At the polling place i was observing, everyone as far as I could tell showed up with ID. Of course, in the heavily urban areas, you'll never have a 30-mile distance to a polling place. My polling place where I vote for instance, is three sides of a city block so no one walks more than a quarter mile. And most of the elderly voters live in the building with the polling place.

A new beginning for Ohio: The adults have taken over!
